Über Artists to Watch: Childish Gambino

If you recognize who he is...yes that is Donald Glover. However, he is not just doing stand up and acting anymore he's making a huge name for himself within the music industry under the name, "Childish Gambino"! He gives a new twist to the music industry with his lyrical talent! He is not the only actor turned rapper, lets not forget about Drake aka Aubrey Graham! I first knew Drake as Jimmy from Degrassi. Look at Drake now a huge heavyhitter within the music industry now. So needless to say actors turned rappers are very much artists to look out for, I can especially say that for Donald Glover (Childish Gambino)! Below we have his hit video "Freaks and Geeks" as well as his recently released video "Bonfire". His debut album Camp, is set to release November 15, 2011.

Über Artists to Watch: CJ Hilton

This 21 year old artist hails from Baltimore, Maryland! CJ Hilton is a child of a gospel singer, so he was raised around music in the church. The following is an excerpt describing him, taken from his facebook artist page!

A talented writer and producer in his own right, CJ plays multiple
instruments -- most of which he learned from his days in church -- and writes
most of his music. He draws from his experiences as well as those of his close
friends, with topics covering “women, to how hard it is being in Baltimore,
going to parties and having fun, just anything.”...CJ describes his sound as
“soulful but young.” While he cites influences such as Usher and R. Kelly, he
also admires old-school veterans like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, and he’s on
a mission to represent old soul from a young perspective. “I don’t feel like
there are any young soulful dudes, like Musiq Soulchild, John Legend -- I feel
like a lot of young cats are scared to do stuff like that. So I wanna be the
ringleader and make it happen.”

When talking about his music the Bronx native says,“I just want people who hear my songs to understand me and know that they may not be the only person going through some of the issues that I address”.
