Back in 2007 Rihanna may have dropped her hottest album to date, "Good Girl Gone Bad". Since then the good girl turned bad has become a media frenzy whether its her trendsetting hairstyles or her designer threads; when Rihanna enters a room people take notice. The real question that ponders my mind, do we all love Rihanna for her music or for her fashion. Which one made her the mega star she has become today. Well lets investigate this and see!
When she first hit the scene back in 2005 with her first single "Pon de Replay" it definitely climbed the charts. However, we can not say the same for the rest of the album, "Music of the Sun". Well this didn't keep the good girl down she came back for a second attempt with the album, "A Girl Like Me". The album had a few good singles but still not a winner. Now time for round three, Rihanna came out strong ready to take over pop music, pop fashion, and ultimately make her mark in pop culture.
Now the real question is which one made Rihanna what she is today. I personally feel that without her third album we all might be saying Rihanna who?? However, others seem to disagree and believe Rihanna is a super star because of her fashion. I will not deny that Rihanna is a trend setter sometimes she is a hit, a miss, and even both. But regardless of what she wears someone is watching and talking about it and a trend is being made. We all cannot forget when the video "Umbrella" was released almost every women on planet earth ran to the salon for the asymmetrical hair cut. It was fashionable but would we have even blinked twice if the song "Umbrella" wasn't such a smash. Or maybe its a mix of her fun/raunchy songs combined with her unpredictable style. Whatever is we definately do not want her to stop, her crazy style mixed with dirty lyrics gives us all something to talk about and more importantly helps influence our fashion!
