It's that time of year again? Oh. How many of you are contemplating bringing home your boyfriend, fling, man, etc. for the holidays? Whether or not you're going to, take some notes from VIBE Vixen on the 4 Reasons Why You Should NOT Take Him Home For The Holidays. Hmmm...
1. Your family despises him and vice versa!
Ladies, there’s no reason to drag him to your house kicking and screaming, when you know your family wouldn’t spit on him if he were ablaze. Just let it go! When taking the main squeeze back to the crib, you have to make sure it’s a smoothe ride. The holidays can already bring the drama, so don’t add fuel to the fire. Spending the holidays apart isn’t ideal, but it won’t kill you. Start with mini gatherings, like birthdays, before you have him carving the turkey next to Pops.
2. He’s too shy!
Okay, you can’t make your man change his character but he has to be able to open up. Getting together for the holidays is such an overwhelmingly uncomfortable situation that he needs to enter that energy seamlessly… And with confidence! Questions? Quizzes? Interrogations? That’s all in store for the first meeting with your guy, so if he can let loose and handle the familial circle, invite him. If he’s going to be a wall flower, try again next year…
3. You don’t know him well enough yet!
Um, you just started dating him. Maybe’s it’s just not that deep for him to be meeting people that he’ll view as strangers the following year.
4. The family doesn’t want to meet a new face!
The family can be quite possessive if you ever fall in love. Often times, they just can’t let go of your ex no matter how many years go by. To avoid some unnecessary name ropping and awkwardness, keep your cutie away from them. Don’t pressure them into meeting someone new if they’re just not ready.
