Über Talk: Abercrombie & Fitch Offer Mike 'The Situation' Money To Stop Wearing Their Clothes

Almost every one with cable has seen or heard of the Jersey Shore it seems the cast rise to fame was within a blink of an eye. Parts of the cast have been offered countless endorsements. Well while other companies have been offering money to the cast for representing their brand Abercrombie & Fitch Co. are doing the exact opposite. The retail clothing store is offering Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino money to stop wearing their clothing.

In a statement released Tuesday titled, "A Win-Win Situation” the company stated, “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.” They offered the situation a "substantial payment" if the "The Situation" would wear an alternate brand. Allegedly the company extended the offer to the other cast mates but is urgently waiting for a response.

According to Abercrombie & Fitch the whole "situation" came about when Chief Executive Mike Jeffries was informed that on the last episode of 'Jersey Shore' Mike was spotted wearing the brand. Mr. Jeffries responded, "Oh, that’s terrible what are we going to do about it?”.

Ironically, last year Mike interviewed with New York Magazine where he stated, "Abecrombie informed me their most popular shirt is the 'Fitchuation'. Where did they get that from? Obviously from myself.” The company confirmed the shirt was apart of their “humor graphic tee assortment.”

Well I wonder will "The Situation" take the company up on their offer.

Do you think this is a publicity stunt by Abercrombie & Fitch? Does the company really have a valid reason to request the cast to stop wearing their brand?
Hmmm I'm not so sure could be a little of both?!?!
