According to Nicki Minaj, the track "You The Boss" was originally set to be recorded with Lil Wayne. Apparently, the song was floating around for a couple of years until Nicki finally decided to hand over the hit to the Big Boss himself.
While donning a female version of Weezy, Nicki gave MTV the inside scoop on the background of the song.
"You know what's interesting about that song," Minaj said while in character as one of her newer alter egos, the Female Weezy, "Nicki originally did that song for Wayne two and a half years ago...It was just lingering, and then she gave it to Rick Ross," her alter ego said. "I think it's hot."
Regardless of who the song was written for, the track is hot! I'm sure the decision has not been regretted.
