With lots of raw talent and an attractive eye for creativity, Christian Louboutin heels are becoming extremely well known and idolized for the variety and seductiveness of the collections.
Rapidly becoming known to the public as "the shoe designer to the stars" as stated by Olivia Bergin of Telegraph.com, Louboutin has brought in the clientel of some of the most famous celebrities today. The list of names range from Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, and even Britney Spears.
Venturing out into a new light, Louboutin has actually started to create studded leather men's loafers as well as sneakers coming in a variety of colors, worn by men such as Kanye West, Lance Gross, and Chris Brown. His brand flagship stores are located in New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas and others outside the U.S. are located in London and central Hong Kong.
Creating his brand since 1991, Louboutin might just become the new Manolo Blahnik.
Manolo Blahnik started his business in 1942. Blahnik heels became widely known due to the show Sex and the City. Avid Sex and the City (SATC) viewers know that Carrie Bradshaw wore Manolo Blahnik's religiously and spoke of them highly. Therefore sparking a trend among younger women with her age range to gain interest of the heels Blahnik produced.
Blahnik heels are more so known to fashion critics as "old school haute couturier." According to designmuseum.org, "he sketches his shoes, chisels the wooden lasts on which they are moulded and sculpts the heels. He then supervises their production and even sketched the illustrations for his advertising companies.
Blahnik has made it this far without any formal training and he says he didn't need it because "i've got the best taste in the world."
While Louboutin may have many more years to go to catch up to the stature that Manolo Blahnik heels hold, Louboutin's are not that far off. Comparing these two great shoe creators are just like comparing Alexander McQueen and a vintage designer such as Chanel or YSL. They are only comparable because both brands have reached iconic status' even more so than actual clothing designers shoe wear creations.
Maybe Manolo's are too classy to be compared to Louboutin's edgy studded platform booties. However, that does not make Louboutin's any less fantastic. What do you guys think?
